“MILANO MED FORUM. ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL FORUM FOR THE MEDITERRANEAN”

 

The Chamber of Commerce of Milan and Promos, the structure of the Chamber of Commerce in charge of internationalization, have promoted the third edition of the Milan Med Forum, in collaboration with the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Economy, the Region of Lombardia.

Important representatives of the political and economic World of the Mediterranean took part to the Forum, from the heads of government to economic ministers, banks directors, industry associations, economic and control authorities, experts, representatives of research centers and entrepreneurs .

 

The President of IASEM, Giuseppe Papaleo, was the moderator of the discussion on “MARITIME ECONOMY, INFRASTRUCTURE AND TRANSPORT: THE DRIVING FORCES AND GROWTH ENGINES FOR EURO-MED MSMEs”. The meeting was divided into two panel discussions:

1. Towards an Integrated Euro-Med Platform: Linking Territories through Maritime Economy, Mobility and Transport

2. MSMEs and Infrastructure Development: Covering the Gap, with an Inclusive Approach

 

Dr. Chiara Lanterns, member of the board of directors of Promos and Assolombarda, introduced the work, then passing the word to Radhi Meddeb, President of the Institut de Prospective Economique du Monde Mediterranéen (IPEMED).

 

The first round table was attended by Umberto Masucci, Vice President, Sea Federation, Luigi Merlo, President, Assoporti, Abdulmagid EL MANSOURI, Chairman of the Libyan Economic Development Consultancy Corporation and Chairman of the Euro – Afro Al Mutawassit Media Corporation (Libya), Claudio ARTUSI, Chief Executive Officer, City Life SpA (Italy), Najoua BEL HAJ ABDALLAH, General Director, Ministére du Développement Régional et de la Planification – General Commissariat au Developpment Regional (Tunisia), Sergio ANGORI, Chief Executive Officer, Pininfarina SpA (Italy), Samir Abdul Hamid WARSFALI, Member of the Board and Head of Constructing and Contraction Sector, Tripoli Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (Libya).

 

The second roundtable was attended by Paul LOTS, Director, Director of the National Association of Shipbuilders and Italian Shiprepairers (Assonave), Jamal Mikou, Director in charge of Business Development and Public Relations, Tanger Med Special Agency (TMSA) (Morocco), Ramón GÓMEZ-FERRER, General Manager, Port Authority of Valencia (Spain), Giovanni Tumbiolo, President, Production District Fishing, (Italy), Stefano SIENESE, General Secretary, International Chamber of Commerce of La Spezia (Italy), Federica BOSELLO, Head of External Relations, the Port Authority of Venice (Italy).

At the end of the two round tables, the President Papaleo took stock of the interventions, emphasizing the strategic opportunities of infrastructure development in the Mediterranean area, highlighting the strengths and the weaknesses.
